Retiring Build Stacks

What is Happening?

The following build stacks will be retired in Appflow over the 2nd half of 2022:

iOS builds:

• macOS - 2020.06 on June 29, 2022
• macOS - 2020.08 on August 30, 2022
• macOS - 2020.09 on September 29, 2022

Web and Android builds:

• Linux - 2020.06 on June 29, 2022
• Linux - 2020.09 on September 29, 2022

Each of the build stacks above is being retired approximately 2 years after their creation date, which is the standard retirement window for a build stack.

Why this is Happening?

The mobile landscape changes quickly. The modern web and native mobile development ecosystem are constantly changing with new requirements that our latest build stacks are created to support. Retiring these older build stacks is necessary to continue empowering users with the latest available technology.

Action Required

Appflow users creating builds with a retiring build stack will need to migrate apps and automations to a newer build stack as soon as possible. Ionic recommends using the latest build stack when possible to ensure the best possible development experience over time.
