Time or meetings purchased from Ionic can be used in several ways. Many times, they are used for specific Advisory engagements (outlined above) but the time can also be used for troubleshooting an issue. Being an advisory customer entitles you to 30 min of non-billable Q&A per issue, anything that requires more than 30 min will require additional troubleshooting steps that, if performed but the Ionic team, will consume Advisory time.
There are two types of requests that you will commonly have:
- You “Need Advice” on something you are building
- You run into “Something that is not working”
Typically, the “Need Advice” inquiries take less than 30 min for the Ionic Advisory team and, in most cases, are solved with documentation or sharing of best practices. (As indicated by the green line above) In the event that our advice is unclear or requires further attention, a separate Advisory engagement will be scheduled (which will utilize purchased hours/meetings).
When “Something is not working” the best way to identify the issue and the resolution is to follow these steps (As indicated by the yellow line above):
- Replicate the issue
- Build a sample app that exhibits the issue
Once you review the findings (blue area) it may lead to additional Advisory or, if a bug was discovered, the information is passed on to our support team to ensure the issue is tracked and a resolution is investigated.
If requested, the Ionic Advisory team will perform the above tasks on your behalf, however this will consume 4 hours or one full meeting worth of purchased Advisory time regardless if these steps fix the issue or not. In addition to these steps being performed by the team a follow up Advisory Engagement may be required.
In order to get the most out of your purchased Advisory time we recommend completing the above steps prior to engaging the Ionic Advisory team so that input can be provided in under 30 min or with a singular Advisory engagement.
